Colin Meiring  - Artistic Director/ Choreographer

Colin started his Performing Arts career at the age of six, competing in ballroom dancing and won every National title in South Africa as well as ten International dance titles. He diversified into musical theatre, television & film and performed on a global scale for 25 years. Colin's National tour, Broadway, Cruise Ship, film and television experiences have enabled him to transfer invaluable knowledge, teaching skills and mentoring to the youth of Vail.

Annah Scully - Founder/Executive Producer

Annah founded Vail Performing Arts Academy in 1995 with the goal of bringing high quality theatrical education and performing arts opportunities to local students. 

Annah taught Secondary Language Arts in Boulder and Vail and has performed on stage and screen. Her entertainment company, To Die For Entertainment, produced corporate, private, and public events in Colorado and California. She is married to Mark, a builder, and a mom to Maria, an event and marketing specialist living in Denver, and Anthony, a film maker in NYC, and a bratty tuxedo cat named Monty.

 Greta Galli-  Director, Professional actress and Interior Designer who works between Denver and Vail.  Greta comes from a talented family; her father, Sergio Franchi, was a an Italian Opera star, as well as, a Vegas headliner. Her mother founded the Las Vegas Ballet.

 Donatella Scaniello-  Secretary/ Treasurer Colorado Business Bank. She spends time between Boulder and Beaver Creek, and is a strong supporter of education.

 Lyn Woods, Vice-President- , is Chief Development Officer Tennyson Center for Children in Denver- Lyn is a former Battle Mountain High School teacher who has worked for many non-profits including the San Diego Hospice, American Humane Society, the Denver Hospice, the Tennyson home, The Meth Project, and now The Salvation Army.

Paul Borrillo,  Director, has been in the performing arts for over 25 years.   While living in New York City, he acted in theater, television and film.   As a variety artist he performed in Carnegie Hall with Artists to End Hunger as well as in the growing performing arts scene in New York's East Village during the 80's.    He developed his skills at juggling, magic, fire eating and specialty costume design while performing as a clown with the No Elephant Circus.   He has performed in Europe, Mexico and across the United States.

Now living in Denver, he is an award winning actor and versatile comedian.   The diversity of his skills and his understanding of the entertainment business has made him a valuable consultant for many of his clients.   When he is not entertaining audiences, producing events or designing unusual costumes, Paul is an emcee, motivational speaker and teambuilding facilitator.

 Janette Bier, Director, was a faculty member at Vail Mountain School and Battle Mountain High School. Vocal Music Minor at U. of Nebraska, Kearney / Musical Performances in College /Lead Singer with a Traveling Jazz Band./Worked with and in several Talent Shows in Vail & Carbondale/Sang with Helmut Fricker of Vail Fame for many years./Perform currently with a group, the Revelers./Solo work for Community Functions in Redstone. /Sings with the Redstone Jazz Band.

Jeff Wozer – Director, Long time Vail character and professional stand up comedian and comedic writer. When he’s not performing, Jeff is employed by Mooncut, a company that creates high-quality, SEO-friendly, web content for eco-friendly and outdoorsy companies. They specialize in digital marketing strategies that help users and search engines easily find your site

Shelley Woodworth- C0-Chair With a background in event marketing and media relations, Shelley began her career as a communications skills trainer in New York City. Returning to her native Colorado, she became the marketing & PR director at the Vail Valley Foundation, where she wore many hats to work within all aspects of event production. From event imagery and copy-writing to media operations and sponsorship fulfillment,  from athlete and artist relations to asset management and circulation. In 2012, Shelley created Onyx & Company, Ltd., a boutique firm that specializes in marketing, media and production.

Jim Pyke -Co-Chair - A true “Local”, Jim grew up in Vail after his family moved to the Valley in 1969. He treasures his experiences growing up in the little ski town that has become a world class resort. He has seen changes such as his elementary school transform into the Vail Valley Hospital, Uncle Ern’s Billiard Barn become the Solaris Grand Resort and the Kentucky Fried Chicken replaced with the corner Fur Shop . He was even President Ford’s personal dog sitter as a young teenager. After graduating from the University of Colorado in Boulder, he returned and met his wife, Liz, in 1993 while they were ski instructors in Vail. They now have three children, twins - Ethan and Olivia and Eliza. They are actively involved in the communities throughout the Vail Valley. Jim has worked for two prominent local real estate developers for over 11 years in technology management. He also owns and operates a technology consulting practice, servicing real estate developments and golf resorts throughout the United States. Jim coaches youth sports, including skiing, football, basketball and baseball. He has a passion for the Vail Valley and has always appreciated its offerings and beauty. 

Jennifer Boggs, Director -CPA at Turner & Associates, Inc. providing tax and accounting services for individuals and businesses.  Grew up in the valley and is an alumni of Battle Mountain High School.  Graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.  Currently has 2 children attending public schools in Eagle County.

Carla McConnell - Carla works as a Senior Vice President at Morgan Stanley in Denver.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Carla was with J.P. Morgan’s Private Bank where she worked with individuals and families throughout Colorado on developing comprehensive wealth plans.  Before J.P. Morgan, Carla worked closely with the CFO in the Corporate Finance group for PetSmart Inc.  She graduated with honors in Finance from Arizona State University, W.P. Carey School of Business.  She also spent four years representing her university in the Pacific 12 conference as the captain on the Division I women’s soccer team. 

Carla serves on numerous boards in the community including the Finance Chair on the Women’s Council at the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business, Co-Chair on the Associate Board for City Year Denver, and a member on the Women’s Lung Force for the American Lung Association in Colorado. Additionally, Carla spends her time mentoring undergraduate students at the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business. Carla was born in Boulder and grew up as an avid CU Buffs fan.  As a Colorado native, she enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and playing competitive soccer and golf.

Wendy Wright - I live my life in a creative way and am a huge fan of theater and the arts. Studied languages, all cultures interest me deelply. Bill LeVasseur - "Bill discovered acting after serving 5 years in the US Air Force as an F-16 crew chief during Desert Storm. Over the past 25 years, he has been in numerous films, and on TV shows such as “Melrose Place”, “Days of our Lives”, “The West Wing”, “Crash” starring opposite Dennis Hopper, and was Host of “Brainstormers” on The Weather Channel. He is also an established commercial actor and has been trusted to be the face of many brands including “Coors”, “Cabelas”, “Ram Trucks”, “Ducati”, and many more.   VOLUNTEERS. Families and friends volunteer to help with many aspects of rehearsals and shows. Our productions have become a community collaboration capitalizing on the many talents of both students and local adults. Many of our volunteers are educators, professionals and/or parents and returning former students whose ongoing expertise is regularly utilized. Local families who are artists create our costumes and sets. Our assistant choreographers, vocal and acting coaches are former VPAA students who return in the summer and after graduating to volunteer. Parents help with backstage, spotlights, load in and out, ticket sales, and much more.

Volunteers for our 3 annual productions include costumes, set, promotion, rehearsal assistants, backstage, ticket sales, fundraisers and cast parties - approximately 756 volunteer hours annually.
